Playground Fun

To enjoy the lovely weather this afternoon, Beau, Sylvie and I went out for a walk around the neighborhood. We first visited the Somerville Growing Center where they were boiling down maple syrup, then swung by the dog park, where Sylvie had a chance to oogle some dogs, hit a cafe to grab some drinks and a quick snack, and finally ended up at the playground. (We didn't pull out the camera until near the end of our journey, hence why there are no pictures of the other events...) Here's Sylvie exploring the wonders of the playground.

Woo hoo! I love to slide!

Daddy and Sylvie share a contemplative moment.

Now on to the swing!

It's fun to kick Daddy!

Silliness on the swing set.

Crazy static electricity Sylvie!

More walking footage, and attack of the naked baby

Sylvie, as you have seen, has been practicing her walking, though usually it has been done in the context of having Mommy or Daddy right in front of her to catch her. Now, in true toddler fashion, she is striking out on her own.

The next set of pictures and video is from the other night when Sylvie escaped from the bathroom after her bath, before I had a chance to get her dressed. I pulled out the camera to try to get a shot of her kissing Marley, which she loves to do these days, but as soon as she heard the familiar sound of the camera turning on, she made a B-line straight for it--and for me.

Ooh! Camera?!

Getting closer...

...and closer

...and really close!

Walking

Sylvie has taken her walking to the next level. She started out with taking one little step on Saturday, and today she's doing 4, 5, 6 at a time. Yay, Sylvie! Here's some video, caught by Beau this evening.

Lunch with Daddy

While I was out doing some prep work at school today, Daddy and Sylvie engaged in a little lunchtime silliness.

(It's hard to tell how much rice actually made it into her mouth and
how much just ended up on the floor.)

(Beau) And then daddy resumed making/acting like a monkey, which is always good for a few laughs.

And from a different day, here's Sylvie trying out a high-fashion pose:
