Katie's due date was December 29. Although there was much talk around whether Sylvie would arrive early. Katie, Beau, and Janice all independently predicted December 20. Amy had a feeling it would be Dec 21 or 22. I'd love to give people credit for correct divinations, but with enough guesses someone's going to be right.
Yes, there were other motivations. The Tremblay elders were coming to Boston for the holidays, and Katie was finishing work on the 21st. Needless to say, all circumstances were satisfied.
Two hours after getting home from school, Katie's water broke at 4:45 pm. Upon hearing the news, Amy hopped in the car and headed to Boston, and Jocelyn and Amine met up with us at Mt. Auburn, where the nurse and midwife were saying that it wouldn't be until the afternoon of the next day that Katie would deliver. Famous last words...
Sylvie was born on December 22 at 2:20 am, after only twenty minutes of pushing, while Beau filmed the birth and Amy and Jocelyn cheered Katie on. She was 7lbs exactly, and measured 19.5 inches.
